The historic Admiralty Arch in London will welcome guests as the first Waldorf Astoria hotel in the UK starting May 2026. This Grade I-listed Edwardian Baroque structure, commissioned by King Edward VII in memory of Queen Victoria, stands prominently at the end of The Mall opposite Buckingham Palace.
After 112 years of history, including service as the residence of the UK’s First Sea Lord, the building is undergoing a meticulous restoration to preserve its heritage while creating a modern luxury destination.
The Waldorf Astoria London Admiralty Arch is being developed through a partnership between Hilton and the Reuben Brothers, who purchased the landmark for £60 million in 2015.
The opening is strategically timed for the second quarter of 2026, following the relaunch of the iconic Waldorf Astoria in New York, as part of Hilton’s global expansion plans for the luxury brand.
Visitors will enjoy 100 elegantly designed rooms and suites, including a presidential suite with direct views of Buckingham Palace.
The property will also feature 17,500 square feet of residences that blend British historical elements with contemporary luxury amenities, tailored to meet the expectations of discerning travelers and locals alike.
Dining at the new Waldorf Astoria promises to be exceptional, with two world-class restaurants helmed by renowned chefs.
Coreus by Clare Smyth MBE will showcase precision and innovation, while Café Boulud by Daniel Boulud will bring timeless French flair to the landmark setting.
Together, these chefs’ restaurants hold seven Michelin stars, positioning the hotel as a premier gastronomic destination in London.
Additional facilities include a 320-cover ballroom for prestigious events and an underground bar paying homage to Winston Churchill and Ian Fleming.
This prestigious development represents a key milestone in Hilton’s luxury portfolio expansion, with similar Waldorf Astoria projects planned for Malaysia and other global locations.
The hotel is expected to be featured at the ILTM Cannes in 2025, offering an exclusive preview to luxury travel professionals before its grand opening.
The venue will offer a collection of both grand and intimate event spaces perfect for accommodating everything from royal celebrations to corporate gatherings.
Under the management of Guillaume Marly as general manager, the Waldorf Astoria London Admiralty Arch aims to establish itself as a global luxury destination where guests can experience the perfect balance of historic grandeur and modern sophistication.
