nonstop flight to phuket

Travelers seeking direct access to Thailand’s largest island will soon have a new option as Virgin Atlantic has announced its first-ever nonstop service from London Heathrow to Phuket. The new seasonal route, announced on October 30, 2025, will commence operations on October 18, 2026, marking the airline’s expansion into Southeast Asia and offering the only direct connection between London Heathrow and the popular Thai destination.

Virgin Atlantic’s groundbreaking nonstop London-Phuket service opens a direct gateway to Thailand’s paradise island starting October 2026.

The service will operate three times weekly, with outbound flights departing London Heathrow at 12:00 as VS214 on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, arriving in Phuket at 07:10 the following day. Return flights, designated as VS215, will depart Phuket at 09:20 on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays, landing at London Heathrow at 16:00. The journey will take between 11-13 hours depending on direction.

Virgin Atlantic will deploy its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on this route, featuring three cabin classes: Economy, Premium, and the award-winning Upper Class Suite. Passengers can expect in-flight entertainment, meals, and refreshments across all cabins, with enhanced comfort in the premium offerings. The onboard experience includes over 300 hours of entertainment content with WiFi available throughout the flight. The aircraft will feature a total of 258-seat configuration across all cabin classes.

Package holidays will be available for booking through Virgin Atlantic Holidays starting October 30, 2025, with flight-only bookings opening on November 26, 2025, via virginatlantic.com. Lead-in package prices start at £999 per person for travel in October 2026, including seven nights’ accommodation with breakfast at the four-star Sugar Marina Hotel Fashion near Kata Beach.

The new route complements Virgin Atlantic’s expanding network eastward, which includes destinations like Seoul, Tokyo, and the Maldives. It also provides convenient connectivity for North American travelers, with connection times under two hours from New York JFK. The initiative is part of Virgin Atlantic’s strategic plan to enhance its presence in Southeast Asian markets.

Beyond Phuket’s renowned beaches and vibrant nightlife, passengers will have access to Thailand’s natural beauty, heritage, and cuisine. The airline has also established a partnership with Bangkok Airways, enabling smooth connections to other Thai destinations including Bangkok, Koh Samui, and Krabi.
