Ipswich Museum recently launched its latest exhibition, “Power of Stories,” which aims to celebrate Black excellence while tackling important themes such as colonization and racism.
This exhibition showcases a unique blend of costumes from Marvel’s iconic film, Black Panther, alongside local stories and comics that highlight the rich heritage of the Black community. The collaboration in creating this exhibition involved local community members and comic book experts, ensuring a diverse range of voices and perspectives were included.
“Power of Stories” has received significant attention, with over 24,000 visitors during its four-month run in 2021. This turnout marked the most diverse audience in the museum’s history, breaking previous footfall records despite the challenges posed by Covid restrictions.
