indian cuisine in london

Bulbul Indian Restaurant, a contemporary dining spot, opened its doors in early summer 2023 at 21 Tudor Street, London EC4Y 0DJ. This new establishment brings a fresh perspective to Indian cuisine, focusing on small plates that showcase regional specialties. The co-founders, Chef Rohan D’Souza and restaurateur Twinkle Keswani, aim to highlight lesser-known recipes and cooking techniques learned from home kitchens across India. This approach allows diners to experience authentic flavors, differing from the more typical Indian dishes often found in restaurants.

The menu at Bulbul features items such as Forest Pepper Crab Dosa and Goan Shrimp Balchão, which are inspired by various Indian regions. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted to provide a taste of India’s rich culinary heritage. The cocktail menu, called “Flight of Bulbul,” complements the food offerings and includes drinks inspired by different areas of India. These cocktails are designed to enhance the overall dining experience, making each visit memorable.

Bulbul’s menu showcases regional Indian delicacies like Forest Pepper Crab Dosa and Goan Shrimp Balchão, complemented by cocktails inspired by India’s diverse flavors.

The restaurant’s interior is an important aspect of its appeal. Designed by Right Brain Design Studio from Mumbai, the space includes a maximalist forest theme that features bold colors and artful details. This design choice aims to transport diners to a different environment, reminiscent of the lush landscapes near Lake Como, albeit with an Indian twist.

The setting is intended to be both inviting and engaging, encouraging guests to relax and enjoy their meals.

With a focus on quality and authenticity, Bulbul Indian Restaurant represents a new chapter in London’s diverse dining scene. The emphasis on early 20th century Indian culinary techniques, combined with modern design elements, creates a unique atmosphere. Rights Reserved to the co-founders’ vision, Bulbul seeks to redefine the Indian dining experience in the heart of London, making it a destination for both locals and visitors alike.
