This event, located at 180 Strand, Surrey Street, WC2R 1EA, is positioned to be one of the most intense championship events in central London this season.

The creative community hub will transform into an esports-style arena where spectators can witness rapid-fire chess matches in person, similar to the vibrant atmosphere found in local pubs and cafes that often host viewing parties for major sporting events.

The tournament features a single-elimination knockout format with 16 competitors facing off in blitz and bullet segments. Time controls will vary from 5+1 and 3+1 to the lightning-fast 1+1 pace.

Battle for supremacy as 16 elite players clash in blitz and bullet chess, racing against clocks set from 5+1 down to 1+1.

These finals represent the culmination of a championship that begins on October 12, with the world’s best players competing for supremacy in speed chess.

Four top-ranked players headline the event, including GM Magnus Carlsen, who qualified after defeating GM Fabiano Caruana 14.5-7.5. The competition also features GMs Hikaru Nakamura, Hans Niemann, and world number-four Arjun Erigaisi.

Additional qualifiers include GMs Liem Le, Denis Lazavik, Jose Martinez, and Tuan Minh Le. Note that some participants may experience access restrictions when using Chess.com during specific online activities.

Tickets are available in several tiers, starting from £45.00 for standard entry. Options range from Community Streamer packages with big-screen viewing to Arena tickets providing close access to the matches.

Premium experiences include VIP Platinum with dedicated lounge and bar service, while Diamond tier offers two-day entry, open bar, and player meet and greets.

All ticket levels include arena access, behind-the-scenes activations, and live commentary throughout the event. Attendees can visit merchandise booths and receive complimentary raffle tickets regardless of ticket type.

With a total prize fund of $250,000, this championship represents Chess.com’s most important speed chess event and will determine the world’s best speed chess player.

The matches will broadcast on Twitch and YouTube, drawing substantial media attention due to high-profile rivalries among the competitors.

Additional weekend activities include community streamer events and exclusive experiences for premium ticket holders. Doors will open at 12 p.m. sharp each day, with games officially starting at 1 p.m. for both tournament days.
