Seven exciting events across London will mark LGBT+ History Month in February 2026, offering a diverse range of activities for those interested in exploring queer history and culture.

The National Gallery will host a tour and talk series led by Dr. Tilly Scantlebury, using a queer lens to examine their collection. These free events will take place on Monday, February 2 from 1:00-1:45pm and Sunday, February 15 from 11:00-11:45am, with British Sign Language interpretation available. No booking is required, but admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early as the tours operate on a limited places basis.

Tate Modern will feature LGBTQ+ themed tours exploring queer artists and stories throughout February, with free drop-in sessions on February 14 and 22. These tours are part of the museum’s monthly programming highlighting queer works in their collection.

Similarly, Royal Museums Greenwich has organized a series of events across their venues, including an Out at Sea event on February 7 from 11am-4pm and a Tidal Textiles queer costuming lab in late January. The highlight of their programming includes a special Queer History Night on February 12 from 6-9:30pm, featuring researchers and artists exploring the museum’s archives. The British Museum will offer multiple LGBTQ+ focused tours throughout the month on February 7, 15, 21, and 27.

Redbridge will celebrate the 20th anniversary of LGBT+ History Month with a bristling programme of free activities, including book readings, comedy nights, and a trip to London Museum Docklands.

For those interested in networking, Hard Rock Cafe at Piccadilly Circus will host a Gaydio event on February 6, featuring entertainment, drinks, and canapes. The Common Press will organize a queer film night at Rio Cinema in Dalston, showcasing short films on intersectional identities.

Educational opportunities include SoLo Craft Fair lectures on LGBT+ history at Elephant Stores on February 26, with three sessions throughout the day.

The LSE Library in Holborn will hold an open archives day on February 27, offering free curator chats and tours. London Museum will present weekend talks and craft activities each February weekend, exploring London’s queer history and the challenges of uncovering early queer narratives.

These events aim to inform, challenge, and strengthen queer culture through historical exploration.
