Commuters face significant disruption as both the Jubilee and Piccadilly lines undergo extensive closures over the coming months.
The Piccadilly line will experience weekend part-closures from Saturday 15 to Sunday 16 November between Acton Town and Uxbridge. Further disruption will follow on December 6-7, affecting the same section and coinciding with Metropolitan line closures.
The Jubilee line will see no service between Green Park and Stratford on January 10-11, including Night Tube services. Prior to this, on Friday night January 9, Night Tube services will be suspended between Finchley Road and Stratford. Additionally, Jubilee line trains will not stop at Baker Street during Night Tube hours from Friday 23 into Saturday 24 January.
Long-term works on the Piccadilly line continue until January 2026, with reduced services across the entire line. This service reduction affects approximately 158 million trips annually as the Piccadilly line accounts for 10% of all Tube journeys. Passengers may consider using River Bus services as an alternative for some routes along the Thames.
Piccadilly line passengers face ongoing disruption as reduced services affect the entire line through January 2026.
Specific closures include no service between Hyde Park Corner and Acton Town during Night Tube hours on Friday 10 April until 7:00 Saturday morning, and no trains between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge on April 11-12. Southgate station will remain exit-only until mid-March 2026.
Transport for London advises passengers to plan ahead and allow extra travel time during these disruptions. Alternative routes may involve other lines that have their own planned closures. Rail replacement bus services will be made available with accessibility features to ensure all passengers can continue their journeys.
The DLR will have no service between Shadwell and Tower Gateway on January 10-11, with stations closed. The Hammersmith & City line will suspend service between Plaistow and Barking on Sunday January 11 from 10am to 6pm.
Station-specific impacts include the complete closure of Cutty Sark station until spring 2026 and the closure of walking routes between platforms at Bank/Monument until late 2026. Passengers using Bank/Monument for interchange are reminded to touch out and back in for correct fare calculation when using alternative routes.
Looking ahead to New Year’s Eve 2025, the Piccadilly line will have no service between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge, and Liverpool Street Station will close completely from December 31, 2025, to January 1, 2026. Unlike previous years, there will be no free travel on TfL services on New Year’s Eve.
