new bus route launches

On Saturday, a new bus route, the SL11 Superloop, will begin operation, connecting Abbey Wood and North Greenwich with stops in Thamesmead and Woolwich.

This new bus route replaces the existing route 472, which will no longer operate. The SL11 is designed to run every six minutes on weekdays, providing frequent service for passengers traveling between these key locations.

The SL11 Superloop replaces route 472, offering frequent service every six minutes on weekdays for key connections.

As part of its launch, the SL11 will offer free travel for pay-as-you-go customers using a valid Oyster or contactless card during its inaugural week from January 24 to January 30.

This initiative aims to encourage local residents and commuters to experience the new bus route without any cost. Many people are expected to take advantage of this opportunity to explore the benefits of the SL11 Superloop.

The SL11 bus route is set to enhance journey times considerably, with survey data showing that over two-thirds of respondents believe it will make travel quicker.

The route aims to improve connections to various transport services, including the Elizabeth line, Docklands Light Railway (DLR), and London Underground.

Passengers will find it easier to navigate the public transportation system in the area, making their daily commutes more efficient.

In addition to the daytime service, a new night service, the N472, will be introduced.

This service will operate every 30 minutes from 12:15 am until 4:45 am daily, serving all stops previously included in route 472.

This night service will provide commuters and late-night travelers with a reliable option for getting home safely after hours.
