uk s highest roof walk

Adventure-seekers will soon have access to the UK’s highest roof walk when Alexandra Palace opens its summit experience on Saturday, February 14, 2026. Located 130 metres above sea level in North London, this unique attraction offers visitors uninterrupted panoramic views extending 25 miles across the capital’s skyline.

The Summit experience, created by Wire & Sky, takes place atop Alexandra Palace, a beloved London landmark for over 150 years. The fully guided one-hour journey leads participants to the famous Angel of Plenty statue, where they can enjoy spectacular 360-degree views of London. Private climb options are also available for those seeking a more personalized experience. Wire & Sky brings considerable expertise to this project, having previously developed notable attractions including the Dare Skywalk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Cutty Sark rig climb, Liverpool’s Anfield Abseil, and Up at The O2.

Tickets for this extraordinary adventure are now available for purchase, with multiple time slots to accommodate various preferences. Visitors can choose between energising daytime climbs, picture-perfect sunset experiences, or magical night-time ascents. Each session includes all necessary equipment and expert guides who maintain a steady pace suitable for participants. Safety is paramount with comprehensive safety briefings provided before each climb.

The roof walk represents an innovative way to experience Alexandra Palace, known affectionately as Ally Pally, from a completely new perspective. Climbers will learn about the venue’s rich history while enjoying the thrill of scaling one of London’s iconic entertainment venues. The experience combines educational elements with adventure, making it appropriate for those seeking both knowledge and excitement. Visitors will be able to spot major London landmarks including St Paul’s Cathedral and The Shard during their climb.

Andy Broad, Managing Director of Wire & Sky, expressed enthusiasm about the project, highlighting it as one of the most memorable ways to enjoy London. The Summit promises to deliver a combination of historical discovery and breathtaking vistas that cannot be found elsewhere in the UK.

The steady pace of the climb guarantees the experience remains accessible while still delivering the exhilaration of standing atop one of London’s highest points with nothing between visitors and the sprawling cityscape below.
