east london s olympic lido

In the heart of East London, a new project is set to transform the waterfront experience for local residents and visitors alike. The Sea Lanes Canary Wharf project, scheduled to open in summer 2026, will feature a floating Olympic-sized lido at Eden Dock. This impressive lido will measure 50 meters in length and maintain a fixed depth of 1.3 meters, accommodating serious swimmers and casual users alike.

The lido will include six swimming lanes designed for naturally filtered swimming, providing a clean and invigorating experience in an urban setting. The water quality is expected to meet EU Bathing Standards, ensuring that swimmers can enjoy their time in the water without concerns about safety or hygiene. This emphasis on quality makes it an ideal location for year-round swimming, catering to both seasoned athletes and those looking for a leisurely dip.
