gunnersbury s new caf opening

Anticipation builds as Gunnersbury Park prepares to welcome its new café after a five-year absence. The new establishment, Pure in the Park, is scheduled to open on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the site where the previous café was destroyed by fire.

Located next to the entrance of Gunnersbury Museum on Popes Lane, this opening marks the beginning of Gunnersbury’s centenary year celebrations. The café represents a significant partnership between Gunnersbury Park & Museum and The Pure Food Co., an Ealing-based sustainable food supplier. Under a ten-year lease, the café will be managed by the Gunnersbury Park & Museum Development Trust. CEO David Bowler has emphasized the community benefits of this collaboration, which aims to attract visitors from London and beyond.

The historic site once again welcomes visitors with refreshments as Gunnersbury celebrates 100 years of public service.

Pure in the Park will serve as the flagship café for The Pure Food Co., offering Grade A meat without added water or salts, freshly made sandwich fillings prepared by in-house chefs, and seasonal menu rotations at least twice yearly. Visitors can also explore scenic walks in the park while enjoying their meals.

Beverages will include artisan coffee from Doppio, craft beers from Mad Squirrel, cocktails, tea, homemade smoothies, and soft drinks. The café will operate Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm and on weekends from 7am to 6pm, while the park remains open daily from 7am until dusk. The family-friendly venue features spacious outdoor seating with a generous patio area and playground for children. Visitors can enjoy their refreshments after afternoon strolls around the beautiful park grounds. The venue will be added to local entertainment listings as part of Chiswick’s dining options guide once opened. The establishment will be operational during the museum’s refurbishment period, which runs from January 5 to February 3, 2026.

This new development is part of the preparations for the park’s 100 years of public ownership in 2026. The centenary year will feature numerous events, including a community fete on May 25, the first Gunnersbury Family Dog Show on June 21, and a new exhibition on the park’s 100-year history.

After years of dormancy following the previous café’s destruction, Pure in the Park is positioned to become a destination of choice for visitors and has already been listed among the best new London restaurants opening in January 2026.
