air france heathrow lounge opening

Air France has revealed plans for a new flagship-style premium lounge at Heathrow’s Terminal 4, scheduled to open in spring 2026. The 750 square meter facility, designed to accommodate approximately 150 guests at a time, will serve passengers flying with Air France, KLM, and their SkyTeam partners from Terminal 4.

The lounge represents a significant investment in the airline’s ground service experience, showcasing what Air France describes as the “French art of hospitality.”

Interior design will be handled by Air France’s in-house teams working alongside SGK Brandimage, continuing the aesthetic direction seen in the carrier’s recently renovated lounges in Paris and across the United States.

Travelers can expect clear separation between dining, working, and relaxation areas within the space. The visual identity will incorporate Air France’s signature red, white, and blue color palette, complemented by warm woods and metallic accents to create a tranquil environment away from the busy terminal.

The culinary offering will feature French-inspired fine dining options available through both a restaurant-style service and a self-service buffet with hot and cold dishes. The lounge will particularly enhance the experience for La Premiere customers traveling in first class through dedicated premium services.

A full-service bar will provide a curated selection of French wines and champagnes, mirroring the standards passengers would find at the airline’s Paris hub lounges.

One standout feature will be a dedicated spa area, uncommon in airline-operated outstation lounges. This wellness section, alongside separate relaxation zones, aims to revive the spa tradition previously offered in the former Terminal 4 SkyTeam lounge with Clarins.

Business travelers will appreciate dedicated workspaces equipped with power outlets and charging points. Quieter corners will be available for phone calls and last-minute work before departure, with careful zoning to minimize noise interference between different areas.

Access to the lounge will follow standard SkyTeam rules, welcoming Air France and KLM Business Class passengers, SkyTeam airlines’ premium cabin travelers departing from Terminal 4, and SkyTeam Elite Plus members. The timing of this premium lounge may attract British Airways elites who are dissatisfied with recent changes to their loyalty program. The new facility represents a strategic upgrade from the current shared Plaza Premium Lounge, giving Air France complete control over the premium customer experience.
