alpine luxury getaway 2026

While winter’s chill settles over London, the iconic courtyard at Rosewood London is transforming into an alpine-inspired haven. From November 25, 2025, through February 2026, guests can experience “Chalet,” a sophisticated mountain retreat in the heart of the city. Located at 252 High Holborn, this seasonal activation offers a taste of alpine luxury without leaving London, operating daily from noon until 10:00pm.

The design embraces authentic mountain charm with wooden elements and a warm, neutral color palette. Goldbergh, the Amsterdam-based luxury ski brand, brings its signature gold accents throughout the space. The terrace staff will be dressed in pieces from Goldbergh’s Gold Exclusive collection, adding to the authentic alpine ambiance. Visitors will find themselves wrapped in luxury blankets while sitting on custom cushions, creating an intimate atmosphere that captures the essence of après-ski culture with urban sophistication.

Culinary offerings celebrate alpine traditions with hearty, comforting dishes. Guests can start with French onion soup or baked Camembert with confit garlic, walnut, honey, and thyme. Main courses include wine-braised short ribs and tartiflette, a potato gratin with Reblochon cheese and smoked bacon. For dessert, the chestnut Mont Blanc provides a sophisticated finale to the alpine dining experience. The experience wonderfully complements the hotel’s existing dining venues, including the renowned Holborn Dining Room which specializes in traditional British cuisine with a modern twist. Visitors can also enhance their culinary skills with a traditional British pie masterclass at the hotel’s famous Pie Room.

The cocktail program, anchored by The Singleton Single Malt Scotch Whisky, features several signature drinks. Highlights include the Singleton 21-year serve ritual, “I Shine Not Burn” mixing Singleton 18-year with fortified wines, “Jock’s Well Hot Toddy” combining Singleton 12-year with beurre noisette, and “The Siren’s Song” featuring Singleton 12-year with chestnut and pine notes.

This seasonal experience celebrates Rosewood’s recent expansion into alpine hospitality with the December 2025 opening of Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin in the French Alps. The London activation serves as an urban counterpart, connecting the two properties through shared partnerships with Goldbergh and The Singleton.

For Londoners seeking a mountain escape without leaving the city, Chalet offers a tranquil oasis of alpine luxury, combining contemporary refinement with traditional mountain hospitality in an accessible urban setting.
