peckham farmers market experience

A vibrant new farmers market is set to launch in Peckham this winter, bringing fresh local produce and artisanal goods to South East London residents. The Peckham Farmers Market will open on Saturday, January 24, at The Belham Primary School on Bellenden Road. The market will operate every Saturday from 9:30am to 3pm, creating a regular neighborhood space for grocery shopping in the heart of Peckham.

Bringing Peckham’s community together every Saturday with fresh local produce and artisanal treasures at The Belham Primary School.

More than 25 traders will be featured at the launch, offering a wide range of products to meet everyday shopping needs. Visitors can expect local, seasonal fruit and vegetables, including organic options from vendors like Wild Country Organics, who specialize in varieties not commonly found in supermarkets.

The market will also feature quality meat from Pick’s Organic Farm, where animals are grass-fed and slowly reared with an emphasis on welfare. Specialty food offerings include artisan cheeses and charcuterie from The French Comté, handmade cured meats from Danefold Farm, and organic bread from Aston’s Bakehouse. The market is committed to soil and water health, with many vendors using OMRI-listed products similar to those employed by Revolution Farms in their cultivation practices. Shoppers can also find poultry, fish, shellfish, eggs, jams, chutneys, and apple juice among the diverse selection of goods available each week.

The market is designed as more than just a shopping destination. With on-site coffee stands, street food traders, and wine available by the glass, visitors can enjoy a full-day food experience. The family-friendly environment at The Belham Primary School provides a safe space for browsing, eating, and socializing, while regular live music adds to the community atmosphere.

Serving residents of Peckham, Dulwich, and Camberwell, the market is positioned as a community-led initiative where locals can meet regularly. For questions or additional information, interested residents can contact organizers at info@urbanfarmersmarket.co.uk or by phone. The central SE15 location is easily accessible via local bus routes and short walks from nearby high streets.

With its winter launch, the market emphasizes hearty, health-focused seasonal produce, perfect for early-year shopping needs in this cosmopolitan area of South London.
