slough to london bus service

Commuters and tourists traveling between Slough and London will soon benefit from enhanced bus connections when the new 458 service launches on January 4, 2026. Operated by Carousel Buses, this new service establishes a direct link between Slough and central London, filling an essential transportation gap for both daily commuters and visitors to the capital.

The 458 route will serve multiple key locations including Slough, Langley, Iver, and Uxbridge, with convenient drop-offs at Belmont Road and pickups at Stop O near the station. The new bus service aims to enhance transport links between Greater London and surrounding suburban towns. Passengers can access the service from Trelawney Avenue with connections to the Elizabeth line available at both Slough and Langley stations. The service will operate up to every 30 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays, providing reliable transportation options throughout the week.

The route terminates at Uxbridge, where travelers can transfer to London Underground services for continued journeys. Tourists will find particular value in the new service, gaining direct access to popular London attractions including the British Museum, Hyde Park, West End theaters, Oxford Street, and Covent Garden.

The route also connects visitors to Slough’s shopping and business districts, making travel between suburban areas and central London greatly more convenient. The bus will run frequently, with service up to every 30 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays. This schedule restores direct connections between important locations and offers faster travel between Iver and Uxbridge as part of broader timetable improvements across the network. These new services complement the existing Reading Buses fleet with their brand-new buses designed specifically for passenger comfort.

The 458 joins existing services like the Windsor Express London Line 702, which runs hourly from Slough to London Victoria, passing landmarks such as the Royal Albert Hall. Passengers can also make connections with other local services including Flightline 703 from Heathrow to Legoland and various Thames Valley Buses routes.

A new £3 single fare cap, effective January 1 to December 31, 2025, will make the service affordable for regular travelers. This initiative, funded by a £151 million government allocation, aims to provide cost-effective and reliable transport options while improving punctuality across the network.
