London’s luxury hospitality scene is set for a remarkable transformation with the anticipated opening of Chancery Rosewood on September 1, 2025. This exclusive all-suite property, situated at 30 Grosvenor Square in Mayfair, marks Rosewood’s second London location and sixth European venue.
The hotel occupies the former American Embassy, a Grade II listed building that has undergone meticulous restoration under the guidance of Sir David Chipperfield. The preservation of the building’s architectural legacy includes the restoration of its iconic 10-foot high, 30-foot wide golden Eagle from 1960. The building was originally designed by renowned modernist architect Eero Saarinen in 1960.
Heritage preserved, history reimagined—Chipperfield’s masterful restoration breathes new life into a diplomatic landmark.
This careful balance of heritage and contemporary design reflects Rosewood’s commitment to their “A Sense of Place” philosophy, creating an authentic connection to the location’s history and culture.
Guests will experience unprecedented luxury with 139 to 144 suites ranging from 53 square meters for entry-level accommodations to 403 square meters for the largest Houses in the capital. Each suite offers residential-style comfort with views over Grosvenor Square and Mayfair, flexible check-in and check-out times, private bars, and 24-hour dining. The 53 square meter entry-level rooms are larger than The Peninsula, providing guests with more spacious accommodations than many competing luxury properties.
The culinary program promises to elevate London’s dining scene with eight restaurants and bars, including the first European location of New York’s acclaimed Carbone. The seventh-floor Eagle Bar will provide panoramic views across London, creating a distinctive destination for visitors and locals alike.
Wellness enthusiasts will appreciate the subterranean Asaya Spa designed by Yabu Pushelberg, featuring a 25-meter pool, hydro zone, fitness studio, and five treatment rooms. The development team Qatari Diar Europe LLP has ensured that wellness remains a central focus of the property’s offering. Additional amenities include an Art Concierge, butler service, and VIP airport access for premium suite guests.
The Chancery Rosewood also stands as the first five-star hotel and UK property to achieve a BREEAM outstanding rating for sustainability.
With a 750-guest ballroom and carefully curated cultural programming, the hotel aims to create a dynamic social scene that appeals to international travelers and Londoners, establishing itself as the capital’s new luxury landmark when doors open in September 2025.
