What is happening in Camden this summer? Camden High Street is currently undergoing a trial pedestrianisation, transforming the area into a vibrant space for locals and visitors alike. This initiative is part of the Love Camden Culture Programme, which aims to enhance community engagement and promote local culture through a variety of free events scheduled throughout June and July.

Camden High Street is transforming into a vibrant pedestrian space this summer, enhancing community engagement through free cultural events.

Every Wednesday during this period, live DJ AG will perform, bringing live music to the streets and fostering a lively atmosphere. This initiative encourages community participation, allowing residents to enjoy good vibes while connecting with one another.

On Saturday, June 28, a unique and exciting event called THE HERDS will take place. This event features life-size puppet animals, representing a migration route from the Congo to the Arctic, moving along Camden High Street. The artistic display is expected to attract attention and provide a memorable experience for attendees.

In addition to these activities, the Camden at 60 – Summer Sounds concert will occur on Saturday, July 12. This concert celebrates Camden’s rich local music heritage with free performances from various artists. There is no need for advance booking, making it easy for everyone to attend and enjoy the music.

As part of the trial pedestrianisation, community feedback is highly encouraged. Local residents and visitors are invited to share their thoughts on the changes. Feedback can be provided through the Commonplace Page or via email at CHS@camden.gov.uk.

This initiative not only enhances the street’s atmosphere but also aims to create a more inclusive environment for all, including events recognizing South Asian Heritage. With a variety of cultural events lined up, Camden is set for an engaging summer that brings together community members while celebrating local talent and creativity.
