nike s empowering night run

As the final stop of Nike’s 2025 After Dark Tour approaches, female runners across London are preparing for the nighttime 10K event at ExCeL London on November 23, 2025. The event, designed specifically for women, combines running with elements of nightlife, music, and community to create a festival-like experience rather than just a race.

The event format includes a unique 1K qualifier on race day that determines which of three seeded 10K races participants will enter, as well as their starting grid placement. This multi-lap circuit is partly indoors and partly outdoors, offering views of the London skyline while testing speed, endurance, and strategy. With a total of 826 runners registered, the event promises to be a significant gathering for the women’s running community in London.

Each 10K race features its own podium and finishing celebration, with the finish line serving as the entrance to post-race festivities. Previous tour stops in cities like Sydney, Shanghai, Seoul, Mumbai, Los Angeles, and Mexico City have included performances by artists such as PinkPantheress, creating an atmosphere that encourages a “girls’ weekend” vibe.

The After Dark Tour transforms running into a cultural celebration, with finish lines doubling as gateways to music, community, and nightlife.

Nike has partnered with The Outrunners, a local charity focused on youth development, to extend the event’s impact beyond race day. This partnership aims to increase female participation in running and create equal opportunities in local communities. Participants can access tailored Nike Run Club training plans to prepare for the event, regardless of their experience level.

The ExCeL London venue allows for high-capacity racing within a contained area, making it easier to incorporate spectator zones, music stages, and post-race activities. The race will be held on a certified course by England Athletics, ensuring accurate distance measurements for all participants. Registration information, gear guidance, and race resources are available through the official After Dark Tour website and Nike channels.

Nike’s messaging around the event emphasizes community, self-expression, and empowerment rather than focusing solely on performance metrics. The three separate seeded races guarantee that participants compete alongside others of similar pace, creating multiple opportunities for podium finishes and celebrating achievement at all levels. Finishers will receive Nike’s innovative reflective necklace pendant featuring London’s race elevation embedded in the design.

As November approaches, London’s female running community continues preparations for what Nike positions as more than just a 10K race, but a celebration of women in sport.
